Patient Testimonials
Recently I had a knee injury, for treatment I went to SLG Hospitals. I was hardly walking receptionists and staff members immediately responded and accompanied me to ortho Dr. B.Chakradhar Reddy. He treated me really well and explained me the problem in a very simple neat way. Radiology technicians were also very helpful and supportive. I’m well satisfied with hospitality and over all service.

FAQs
Neurological problems can heavily affect an individual’s memory and his/her ability to perform normal, daily chores. The clinical specialty of Neurology focuses on to treat conditions related to brain and nervous system. The nervous system includes the brain (Cerebrum, Cerebellum and Brainstem), spinal cord, nerves, nerve – muscle junction, and muscles.
Our nervous system plays a crucial role in controlling bodily functions, movements and coordination, and brain happens to be the epicenter to be in charge of everything that we think, perceive, feel, behave, and remember.
Diseases of the nervous system are common, and all diseases of the nervous system have available treatment. Neurology takes the scientific approach to treat and manage the conditions, and keep us attached to our normal flow of life.
Based on the type of neurological disorder that one is suffering (or suffered) from, the causes and risk factors can be wide-ranging.
STROKE:
The primary cause: Lack of blood flow to the brain.
Other risk factors: Heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, migraines, alcohol abuse, smoking, poor diet, lack of physical activity, family history of stroke or heart disease, gender (female), being over the age of 55, having a hole in one’s heart (Patent Foramen Ovale – PFO), history of fibromuscular dysplasia or transient ischemic attacks (TIA), partaking in hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
PARKINSON’S DISEASE
The exact causes for Parkinson’s disease are still unknown. Experts and researchers commonly refer to certain genetic and environmental factors as the main contributing factors.
Risk factors include exposure to well water, exposure to neurotoxins, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides or other such harmful chemicals, family history of Parkinson’s disease, living in a rural area, certain genetic mutations
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
According to medical researchers, a variety of factors may be responsible for developing Multiple Sclerosis (MS), including less exposure to vitamin D from the sun, or if exposed to certain viruses or bacteria during childhood.
Other risk factors: Personal history of smoking, living in an area in which sun exposure is
less frequent, early exposure to chlamydia pneumonia, Epstein-Barr, human herpes
virus-6, measles, canine distemper, and other viruses or bacteria early in life.
A vast range of disorders, affecting the brain and nervous system, is treated by a Neurology Specialist. Some of the common diseases including stroke. Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, vertigo, headache, alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis among others.
