Recently I had a knee injury, for treatment I went to SLG Hospitals. I was hardly walking receptionists and staff members immediately responded and accompanied me to ortho Dr. B.Chakradhar Reddy. He treated me really well and explained me the problem in a very simple neat way. Radiology technicians were also very helpful and supportive. FAQs

Internal medicine or general internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases.

Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists, or physicians. They are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to carry out diagnosis and treatment of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness.

One of the biggest differences between an internist and a general practitioner is that while internists only treat adults, whereas a general practitioner is qualified to provide care for patients of all ages, from adults to adolescents, and also children.

Internal medicine specialists generally provide primary care but for non-complicated patients. General physicians have the additional prerequisite to deal with the complexities of patients with multiple medical problems or uncontrolled medical conditions.

Usually, internal medicine doctors do not perform surgeries. They are primary care doctors to treat adults and most of them do not have the additional skill in paediatrics, obstetrics, or surgery. An internal medicine doctor can refer their patients to a surgical specialist if necessary.

Subspecialties of internal medicine include allergy and immunology, cardiology (heart diseases), endocrinology (hormone disorders), hematology (blood disorders), infectious diseases, gastroenterology (diseases of the gut), nephrology (kidney diseases), oncology (cancer), pulmonology (lung disorders), and rheumatology

Our department of internal medicine has the all-round expertise to take all-round care for all medical issues commonly affecting adult individuals across all genders and age-groups.
They include: Fevers | Common cold/cough | Diabetes (high sugar levels) and related health complications | Hypertension (high blood pressure) and related complications | Dyslipidemia (high cholesterol levels) | Thyroid disorders, and any other unexplained conditions which are often overlooked by a primary caregiver.
