Patient Testimonials

Recently I had a knee injury, for treatment I went to SLG Hospitals. I was hardly walking receptionists and staff members immediately responded and accompanied me to ortho Dr. B.Chakradhar Reddy. He treated me really well and explained me the problem in a very simple neat way. Radiology technicians were also very helpful and supportive. I’m well satisfied with hospitality and over all service.

General Medicine is a medical speciality that is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of acute as well as chronic diseases affecting any part of the body. Doctors who specialize in General Medicine are called Physicians or General Internists.

While a General Physician’s scope of services is very extensive, some common examples of care they provide include:

  • Routine screenings
  • Treating illness and injuries
  • Mental health checks
  • Managing long-term (chronic) illness
  • References to specialists
  • Follow-up care

During your appointment, a Physician would typically:

  • Assess your health
  • Discuss medical history and symptoms
  • Run diagnostic tests
  • Develop a treatment plan
  • Advise you about any lifestyle changes
  • Give you thorough information about your condition and treatment
  • Prescribe medication
  • Refer you to a specialist or arrange a follow-up appointment

The common standbys are always true: Diet and exercise are key ingredients in a healthy lifestyle. But did you realize that getting a good night’s sleep is also vital for good health? Your Physician will help you identify positive behaviors you may have overlooked that are pertinent to your well-being.

  • Avoid aerated beverages.

  • Wash your hands often to avoid infections.
  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Find ways to beat stress and lower your blood pressure. Relax with deep breathing, yoga or meditation.

Apart from medication, lifestyle changes can help you in lowering blood pressure.

  • Eat a healthier diet with less salt. Antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables prevent narrowing of blood vessels.
  • Exercise regularly for at least 40 minutes.
  • Quit smoking
  • Limit the amount of alcohol consumed
  • Maintain healthy weight or lose weight if you’re overweight or obese
  • Manage stress

Just as eating, drinking and breathing, sleep is vital for maintaining good mental health and for our physical well-being. It also helps us to recover mentally from physical exertion.
